Abstract

The contemporary example of the epistemology of the image is to be found today in the collection of digital stickers that describe with amazing accuracy what one understands, thinks or feels about a given situation. Or perhaps it appears amid the stream of everyday memes as a wild animal that crosses the path of automatic scrolling, and puts on the brakes in the face of the unexpected recognition. In the same way, but in the form of an object book, Carlos A. Scolari and Fernando Rapa give life to a specimen that amalgamates text and image, theory and practice, knowledge and experience of what it is to produce, consume and investigate in today’s media environment.
