En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX el paisaje urbano en la Argentina atraviesa tensiones referidas a sus múltiples emplazamientos sociales como género discursivo-visual que acusan, por una parte, la productividad política y cultural de las imágenes implicadas y, por otra, la escasa formalización del género. A partir del análisis de las condiciones de producción y de circulación, y de los esquemas de percepción operantes en la cultura visual, en el presente trabajo se indaga sobre la constitución de los rasgos que confieren especificidad al género y que lo dotan de una estabilidad relativa. Se explora la apropiación y la elaboración de las fuentes visuales y los usos diversos de las imágenes, para señalar el proceso de establecimiento de un campo de pertenencia para estas representaciones hacia principios del siglo XX.Downloads
