Abstract

The application of the assembling process has made the publication of artists’ periodicals accessible to all, even while living far from an artistic capital and witha very limited budget. Anyone can, in theory, launch such a publication and give it an international scope, with a substantial print run. This principle does not only have practical or economic implications it has a profound impact on the periodicals, materially speaking but also it recasts the roles of artistspublishers-readers. Moreover, the assembling process and its derivatives established them as an innovative answer to all types of censorship and they have proven to be an artistic form of resistance.
