Intimacy Writings and Contemporary Scene
The Case of Artists´ Notebooks from The Dgeart

In 2020, La Vidriera, a program of the Gene ral Directorate of Artistic Education (DGEART) staged Cuadernos de artistas y libretos anota dos, an installation that displayed the personal working notebooks of actors, actresses, and directors from the local theatre scene. Connec ted with intimacy and sensitive experience, we believe these objects allow for reading secret procedures of inspiration, production, and re ception akin to the order of the stage. Drawing on authors who have explored the writings of intimacy –and based on Carlo Ginzburg’s in dexical paradigm (2008)– we aim to establi sh formal and temporal relations in which the intimate is articulated with scenic processes. Within this framework, we propose three pos sible relational modes between these writings and scenic praxis: the strategy of inspiration; the logbook; and, lastly, as a framework for the reception of the work.Downloads
