Abstract

This article retrieves the cardinal paths of art history at the School of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Buenos Aires, considering the period before the creation of the specific course in 1963 and the subsequent instances of changes in content and readjustments related to political context and influence of emerging figures. The study programs constitute our main documentation as an analytic tool that allows us to study the selection process and methodological approach of contents and topics in the academic field and point out the conceptual assumptions that ruled over the conception of art history as an academic discipline
