Tonal music. Gestural configurations and complexity
Keywords:
Musical analysis, musical gesture, complexity, social contextAbstract
This work is founded on the possibility of understanding that a gestural conception of a piece of music approaches us to its conception as a complex unit. We base our assumptions on the comprehensive views on the interactions among all its constitutive materials, inserted in specific cultural contexts. From these perspectives, questions related to the hidden, invisible and unperceived musical behavior arose. This way, we can embark on a musical listening which is not just guided by a lineal, dogmatic and normative order, but also invites us to question other types of listening that generate methodologies of analysis that are so far unknown and help us comprehend the meaning of a piece of music as a cultural resultant.Downloads
