Abstract

Ilustrar e Imprimir. Una historia de la cultura gráfica enBuenos Aires, 1830-1930 [Illustrate and Print. A history ofgraphic culture in Buenos Aires, 1830-1930] includes eightstudies on episodes of local graphic culture developed byresearchers from different disciplines. During the studiedperiod, books, periodicals, illustrated books, posters, maps and postcards were produced in an industrial age ofprofound cultural changes. Under this framework, the textfocuses on the analysis of the social, political and economicpurposes that operated in the production processes of thegraphic objects. This implies a double interpretation thatinvolves studying the cultural and historical senses as wellas the methods of graphical production.
