Abstract

The object of this article is to do a review of the book by Guillermo Barzuna Pérez, emphasizing on the analysis of the movements of the new song or testimonial song that appeared in Latin America during the second half of the 20th century. Starting from the author´s point of view when he considers the testimonial song as an input to understand the social political history of the continent, the unity of those movements will be analyzed from a critical perspective rethinking the agglutination that comes from the situations with specific characteristics that are part of some of them but not all. all.
