Tango in The 1960 S: Between the Popular and The Academic
Keywords:
tango, musical analysis, styleAbstract
The studies on the extensive work of Eduardo Rovira are noticed, by the Instituto Nacional de Musicología Carlos Vega and various researchers dedicated to tango and to the figure of the composer, as an area of vacancy in relation to the tango of the sixties. Rigorous analyses of some of his compositions and an account of his extensive catalogue of works in score and discography show the composer’s contribution and the richness of his language: his personal research and innovations in the development of harmony, counterpoint, melodies, textures, timbres and form in so-called modern tango.Downloads
