Abstract

Guitar time. A look at the contributions of Mateo Villalba, is a study on the interpretive, melodic and accompaniment resources developed in the group of guitars that Villalba formed from the eighties. Its richness lies not only in the systematization of the contents, considering that Chamamé (like other popular Argentine music) was learned among musicians almost exclusively through orality; but also in her proposal anchored in musical production, where the sounds that the author achieves as an interpreter and arranger together with her group of guitars, positively distance herself from Villalba’s sound, evidencing her own way of doing Chamamé.
