Abstract

The versions or agreements of transcendent songs from the 20th century find in the book compiled by Abel Gilbert and Martin Liut a central space of reflection that runs between the stories of their compositions. In the book Las mil y una vidas de las canciones there are references to musical works ranging from concert music and opera to folklore, rock, tango, cumbia and testimonial songs. The analytical problem covers diverse theoretical frameworks, but always focused on the music of the 20th century.
