This work presents historiographical writing exercises completed as part of the Visual Arts Historiography III course (FDA-UNLP) during the 2025 academic year. Based on the reading of key figures in Argentine art history and selected works, the students wrote critical essays, paying attention to the sensibilities, resources, and theoretical vision of the authors studied. The examples presented include, on the one hand, a reflection on the debate surrounding national art that took place during the 1894 Ateneo between Calixto Oyuela, Rafael Obligado, and Eduardo Schiaffino, in this case stimulated and revisited through the work Argentina (2004) by the artist Rosana Fuertes. On the other hand, there is a critical analysis of a work by the painter Enrique de Larrañaga, employing the categories and aesthetic principles used by Julio E. Payró in constructing our art history.Downloads
