In 2025, the Department of Cinematography at the National University of La Plata marks seventy years since its founding, as the first university-level film program in Latin America. This article offers an overview of the commemorative programming organized by the current Department of Audiovisual Arts, conceived as a curatorial gesture of collective reconstruction of institutional memory. Through archival recovery, 16mm film screenings, tributes, and intergenerational dialogues, dispersed fragments are brought together to compose a situated history that acknowledges the political, pedagogical, and affective dimensions of public audiovisual education.References
