Abstract

The following lines attempt to define more precisely a concept of audio-visual analysis proposed by Michel Fano, which refers to the congruence between image and sound. Primarily related to synchronization, but also concerning sonic iconicity, the concept is widely verifiable in various films. However, it presents certain particularities that can be recognized as generic codes or authorial stylistic features. In this sense, the issue of audio-visual congruence is presented as a differential component that can be part of a more extensive study on a possible audio-visual rhetoric.
