Abstract

History of Uruguayan Popular Music is a documentary series aired by Uruguayan public television that guides us through musical milestones, prominent authors of Uruguayan popular songs, and the most significant social, political, and economic contexts that occurred between the years 1960 and 2000. This article systematizes the process of constructing the series, focusing on conceptual, methodological, and aesthetic decisions. Additionally, it presents the documentary environment generated from the research conducted for a television series, comprising an online public archive.

The acceptance of the manuscript by the magazine means the non-exclusive cession of the property rights of the authors in favour of the editor, who allows the reuse, after publication (post print), under a license Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International.

The cession of non-exclusive rights means that after the publication (post print) in Arkadin the authors can publish their work in any language, means and format; in such cases it must be mentioned that the material was originally published in this magazine.
