These lines seek to make a contribution in the way of thinking a gothic way in Argentine cinema. The analysis makes reference to the gothic roots of Rio de la Plata literature in order to trace a parallel journey through the Argentine cinematographic production of the 20th century and it also points out a dispersed corpus of films that have manifested a profile bordering on expressionism, noir and terror, all heirs of the English gothic tradition. The films La mano en la trampa (Sires & Torre Nilsson 1961), El dependiente (Torre Nilsson & Favio, 1969) and La ciénaga (Stantic & Martel, 2001) will be addressed for the analysis.References
