The installation From the Freud Museum (1991-1996), by the artist Susan Hiller (1940-2019), made as a critical homage to the father of psychoanalysis, is the object of this text. The work is described and analyzed from a conceptual perspective; it is also considered in its relation to Sigmund Freud and to several concepts of psychoanalysis, such as the unconscious, free association, manifest and latent content and repression. Lastly, three specific boxes of the installation are discussed in relation to the Freudian concepts of the joke, parapraxes and the uncanny.Downloads
