Abstract

In the last years, Paraguay has had a great develop of film industry. This invites us to analyze the cinema on which the current productions stand, especially considering that Paraguay had the longest dictatorship of Latin America. Between 1953 and 1989, Alfredo Stroessner ruled the Paraguayan lands, applying a great control and censorship over the audiovisual productions, national and foreign, that circulated in the country. For that reason, this article seeks to start recovering the works lost in time and history
