Abstract

The study of visual communications constitutes a field of knowledge and practices integrated by semiotic objects. These complex signs make it possible to think about contexts, networks and ways of use. In the YPF state agency, in the mid-1930s we detected a milestone in the production of informational graphics: the schematic of Jaime Bermejo. We find that those graphics have specific knowledge scheduled with various techniques and tools. The diffusion of these schemes transcended the industrial sphere, becoming information of reference for different social sectors.
