Abstract

The role that the images play in cultural history is still very controversial. The different theories about what part images play and what information they contain have constituted foundational fields within the History of Art. In this sense, among the ideas developed by Aby Warburg at the beginning of the 20th century, that of Denkraum or «thought-space» stands out. Towards the end of his work, this space, which characterized several aspects of the Warburguian thought, influenced the way of seeing the intellectual practice with images. The characteristics of this space and its operating topicality to think about the connections established within this action field constitute the focus of the present article.
