This article analyzes the emergence of Galería Barro from Buenos Aires as a representative case of the transformation of the local gallery system within the context of neoliberal urbanism and the expansion of the contemporary art market. Based on a case study focused on its initial period (2014), it examines the warehouse space as an exhibition device, the professionalizing discourse of its director, Nahuel Ortiz Vidal, and the project’s operational structure. The analysis shows how spatial scale, infrastructural investment, and international orientation reconfigure the conditions of production, circulation, and valuation of contemporary art in Buenos Aires.Downloads
