Regarding childhood, the 20th century constitutes a turning point in Argentina. Girls and boys began to be considered producing and creative subjects, and many experiences tried to create conditions so they can express their voices. Children’s magazines accompanied and promoted this configuration by transmitting school knowledge as well as that related to the playful universe, through crafting sections, which included puppets and all kinds of toys. We hypothesize that children’s magazines collaborated with puppetry by echoing some of the proposals that had been developed in the artistic and the educational field, incorporating sections that taught how to make puppets. We aim to review the cases of Billiken and Mundo Infantil, the knowledge transmitted and the ways it did itDownloads
