Abstract

In this interview, Mela Dávila Freire recounts her experiencein the management, organization and disseminationof contemporary art archives in institutions such as theCenter for Studies and Documentation of the Museumof Contemporary Art of Barcelona and the Reina SofíaMuseum. Through specific cases, she exposes the uses andtensions between the collections and the archives, as wellas the challenge of displaying the documentary collections.The presence of Argentine art documents in public andprivate archives in Spain will be a strategic point to inquireabout the reactivations that follow the collections, whatthe key pieces are and what stories are constructed aboutLatin American art.
