This article analyses «Estorbo» (2019), an art exhibition by Teresa Margolles. Special attention will be paid to the use of specific materials, which is presented as a strategic resource in order to build meanings that are inseparable from the context of production itself. By doing so, we will focus on how the artist denounces the violence and death in border territories. At the same time, Margolles puts into question both the symbolic and mental frontiers, from an artistic practice that goes beyond the dichotomy between aesthetics and politics.References
