In this article, the epistemological debate of project disciplines, specifically Design, and the possibility of its establishment as a field of research were analyzed. For this, the current state of the discussion was explored. The visions of hegemonic and alternative science, what is epistemology and the conflict around the production of project knowledge were defined. Subsequently, the multiple proposals on the epistemological possibilities of Design and two possible research methodologies were analyzed. This debate is necessary to consolidate project disciplines as another field of study, taking into account the singularities of their identity and production, to consolidate and expand their theoretical basesDownloads
