Abstract

In this article we propose revisiting some of the writings and practices of the art historian and critic, writer and gallerist born in La Plata Saúl Yurkievich with the aim of analyzing what we presume as the existence of two versions of the author that coexist in a short period of time. The first version of Yurkievich proclaims the recognition and celebration of the modern artistic practice in our territory. His latter version, with a pessimistic rhetoric, permeability of these poetics to European geographies which keep the door open to artistic avant-garde, nominating these imminent departures with the label of the exile, which he paradoxically took part in.
