The process of institutionalization of a new knowledge space is undoubtedly a complex process. It requires new knowledge, positive social and political circumstances, and a network of actors that give the necessary impetus for the emergence of the new. Although made invisible, women played a prominent role in the events that made design careers possible at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes (ESBA). This work replicates the voices of these women, first applicants, then students of the Experimental Courses, and finally students of the first class. Their vitality, drive and strength were key aspects in the founding stage of our discipline.Downloads
